The Secretary to Bolewura Safo Kutuge Feso (I), Mr Haruna Abdulai Obey has giving clarifications on reasons the Paramount Chief of the Bole Traditional Area Bolewura Sarfo Kutuge (I) whose Traditional Area the was missing at a Savannah Regional House of Chiefs meeting in Bole.

Speaking on Bole based Nkilgi Fm’s morning show on 24th Jine, 2022 when contacted, Bolewura’s Secretary said the Bole Traditional area was pleased to be the first town outside the capital of Savannah Region Damongo to host a very important meeting such as the General meeting of the Savannah Regional House of Chiefs but the Bolewura and his Chiefs were not properly informed about the meeting and not also recognised.

Mr Haruna Abdulai Obey said, Bolewura Safo KutugeFeso (I) is a member of the Savannah house of Chiefs and a standing committee member who see to the organisation of such meetings, therefore when such a meeting is to take place Bolewura should be notified early to put the necessary protocols in place in his paramountcy but notification from the Registrar of the Gonja Traditional Council came three (3) days to the meeting.

Mr Abdulai said with due respect and practice of Gonja tradition, diligence of respect should have been accorded to Bolewura the custodian and Paramount Chief of the area but the Vice-President of the Savannah Regional House of Chiefs, Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor (I) was in Bole without according any courtesy call to Bolewura even though Bolewura was in his palace as custom demands awaiting to receive Buipewura for the necessary traditional greetings and welcoming ceremony.

The Bolewura’s Secretary said, Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor (I) moved straight to his hotel (Wuripe&Sons Royal Lodge) without any courtesy to Bolewura.

That not withstanding according Mr Haruna Obey, Bolewura Safo Kutuge Feso (I) sent for Mandariwura to send yams and a ram as a gesture of respect to welcome Buipewura Jinapor.

Mr Abdulai said Buipewura refused his gifts and ordered Mandariwura out of his hotel room saying; “Get out, Get out if Bolewura is sick then we will meet tomorrow”.

He said, this action of Buipewura Jinapor hurts Bolewura Safo Kutuge Feso (I) because it shows that Buipewura Jinapor has shown that he doesn’t recognise Bolewura Safo Kutuge Feso (I) as the paramount Chief of Bole Traditional Area.

Mr Abdulai further mentioned several other occasions in which the Buipewura embarrassed and humiliated Bolewura’s delegations sent to him, mentioning the Gonjaland Youth Association Congress held in Bole where Buipewura Jinapor refused to be ushered into Bole by Bolewura’s delegation and other instances of humiliation and so if Buipewura Jinapor continues to disrespect, humiliate and not recognise Bolewura Safo Kutuge Feso (I) as Bolewura then he won’t allow himself to be disrespected hence his absence at the General meeting of the Savannah Regional House of Chiefs.

At the general meeting of the Savannah Regional House of Chiefs in Bole, the Vice-President of the Savannah Regional House of Chiefs, Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor (I) in an address bemoaned the situation in which the Paramount Chief of the Bole Traditional Area and his Chiefs and Queenmothers did not recognised the meeting.
