MP for Damongo constituency and Minister for Lands and Natural Resources Hon Samuel Abu Jinapor has on 21st August, 2021 donated 100 bicycles to pupils within the Busunu Electoral area in the Damongo constituency.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman for the Damongo Constituency, Alhaji Adam Braimah who led the some executives of the party in the to donate the bicycles on behalf of the MP to the students appealed to the students to use the bicycles for their intended purposes and also take good care of the them.

He further advised them to study very hard since they are the future leaders of Ghana.

The distribution of the bicycles will be of immense help to the students who on daily basis walk to and from school in Busunu from communities such as Sumpini, Kojope, Kedendelenpa,Bidima, Langantere, Lorto, Tailorpe, Bodukura, Kukunde and Asamore.

The students received a bicycle each from the MP to enhance their movement.

The Assembly man for the Busunu electoral area, Hon. Dari Osman Thomas on behalf of the people of his electoral area commended the MP for his kind gesture.

Hon.Thomas said it was very dangerous seeing students from the communities especially those on the Damongo highway on daily basis walking to and from school in the midst of speedy vehicles plying the road.

He added that the issues of absenteeism and late coming to school will now become a thing of the past with the donation of the bicycles to the students.

He further indicated that he used to personally hire the services of motorkings to transport the students to their various communities after school at a cost born by him and that will also be a thing of the past.

The Busunu Assemblyman used the opportunity to appeal to the MP to once again consider wiring some of the schools so that during the night, students in the area can study and also use enhance ICT learning.

Meanwhile, Hon Jinapor has also released a total amount of GHc7,000 for extra-classes to be organised by Ghana Education Service in all schools in the Damongo Constituency and also to cater for the cost of common mock exams for candidates who will be taking part in the 2021 Basic Education Certificate Examination.

The extra- classes in the Constituency is expected to start from September.
