The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bole in the Savannah Region Madam Veronica Alele Heming has disclosed that Bole has been selected as a site for the erecting of structures for a military camp which will be owned and operated by the military to facilitate their training and other operations.

The DCE said this in response to concerns by some residents of Bole on military helicopters flying in and out the community in recent months.

Speaking on the morning show (Kokokiliyakoo) of Bole based Nkilgi FM on 9th June, 2020, the Chairperson of the Bole District Security Committee explained that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government has decided to station a military training school and a military base in the Savannah Region and that Bole has been selected for the military base while Daboya in the North Gonja District of the Savannah Region has been selected for the military training school.

There have been a number of consultations and engagements with the Chiefs and stakeholders to get the military base sited in the Bole area and that there is available land for the military camp. She said the Chiefs of Bole have already allocated land for the military camp whic will be on the Bole to Chache border road”; the DCE said.

The Bole DCE further said the military have already sent their people to measure the land after which pre- fabricated metals will be brought down for the fencing and putying up of other structures in the camp.

Madam Alele entreated the people of Bole not to panick anytime they see an helicopter around and also called on the media to always try and cross check with the Bole District Assembly on issue of helicopters coming in and out Bole in order not to cause fear and panic in the Community.
