The Progressive Youth for Peace and Development in Bole has donated 1000 pieces of face masks to residents of Bole as the Community prepares for the mandatory wearing of face masks at all public places such as markets, police stations, lorry stations, Hospital/CHIP compounds, Chief Palaces, Chop Bars and Drinking Bars, Court etc as a means of preventing the spread of coronavirus with effect from Wednesday, 20th May, 2020.

The Paramount Chief of the Bole Traditional Area Bolewura Sarfo Kutuge Feso (I) has given permission to the Bole District  Health Directorate to implement the mandatory wearing of face masks at all public places.

The Bolewura and his Chiefs said they have taken due consideration of the measures taken by the Bole District  Health Directorate to combat the spread of COVID-19 in Bole and beyond and fully supports them to extend Ministry of Health Directives to any part of the Bole Traditional area.. This was after the Bole District Health Directorate wrote a letter dated 8th May, 2020 to the Bolewura seeking permission to implement some directive on the premises of all Health facilities in the District.

Speaking on Bole based Nkilgi FM, the Secretary of the Progressive Youth for Peace and Development in Bole Adams Abudulai aka Culture said the donation is from the leadership of the Progressive Youth and that the donation was done last Friday which is a market day so that those at the outskirts of Bole can also benefit.

Adams Abudulai urged those who can afford to come to the aid of those who cannot afford the face masks.

He said the Coronavirus is real and that everyone should try and get a face mask.
